Marketing that doesn’t feel like marketing
One of the questions I get asked a LOT is how to create marketing that doesn’t FEEL like marketing.
Marketing is sharing your work with the world.
When marketing is done right, it doesn’t feel like marketing. It feels like educating, sharing, asking questions, getting creative… It’s fun, entertaining, and leaves people wanting to learn more about you and your work.
Of course, you will need to direct people to your offer every once in a while, too—how else will they know how to work with you?
Today, I will list out 15 content ideas you can use to market your business.
1) Your story.
People LOVE to know where you started, how YOU transformed, and what you are working with. Your story will help you stand out as a leader in your industry. Best of all, your story is uniquely YOU! Others might have a story similar to yours, but your unique blend of experience and voice will set your work apart from the rest.
2) Your tools
What crystals, decks, wands, rituals are you working with right now? What do you love working with? What’s on your wish list and WHY? Share your tools with the world—and see if you can get an affiliate referral bonus for sharing what you love with the world!
3) People who influence you
Who has made an impact on your work and life? Who do you follow? What do you love about them? Or even whose books or writing has changed or influenced your perspective. How does that feed into your work and how you do things?
4) Meditations and rituals
Do you have any rituals or meditations you can share with the world? Of course, you want to have free versions and paid versions! Or you can offer a short version of a ritual or meditation for free, and then offer the longer version as a paid add-on.
5) How-tos
People love to learn how to do what you do. If you can show them how to make a wand, like the one you use or how to use crystals for attracting love and abundance, they will love you forever! You can write how-to blog posts or even do a video to share on your social media and blog.
6) Ask questions!
One of the best things you can do on your social media—and even on your blog or vlog—is to ask questions! You can ask if your people prefer coffee or tea, what their favorite gem is, what tarot decks they are drooling over, what they are working on manifesting.
You can even ask them what kind of topics or posts they would like to see you create, which is awesome for your keyword research!
7) Stories about bad clients
This one can be tricky, but it’s oh-so-good! You want to make sure that any controversial client stories are super anonymous. Don’t name names, no matter how tempted you might be.
8) Testimonials
Testimonials rock! They highlight the transformations or praise you receive about your work. You want to weave testimonials into your social media and content marketing as often as possible.
9) Your expertise
Marketing is about standing out and showing that you are an expert in your field. Don’t be afraid to toot your own horn or show how your expertise can help serve clients.
10) Did Fate ever step into your business and change your course?
If you followed guidance from Fate or you were led in a new, exciting direction seemingly by chance, share that story with the world! People love hearing about how Fate intervenes. It can be totally relatable.
11) Behind the scenes
What does your office area look like? How do you store your decks and crystals? What do you do in your spare time? People are genuinely curious about you as a person. Share the good, the bad, and the ultra adorable moments with your audience. It helps build the know, like, and trust factor that leads people to become true fans of you AND your work.
12) Tips and tricks
OMG. Who doesn’t love good tips and tricks from a seasoned professional? Kind of like this blog post!
13) Transformations
Transformations are kind of like a super-charged version of a testimonial. They highlight where a client started, the client’s journey, and the ultimate transformation your work brought for the client.
*Don’t forget to ask your client for permission to share their story with your audience. Some people are totally cool with it and others are not.
14) Charities and causes you love
What do you support in real life? Is there something going on in current events that has you getting out your wallet or marching in the streets? Share what you support and use your platform to raise awareness of good causes.
15) Controversial topics
Sharing your point of view about controversial topics in your industry can be a good way to help your audience understand who you are and what you think. Make sure you pick your battles, though. There are some people who talk about ultra-controversial topics, like Awaken With JP, who are known for their opinionated posts. You have to decide what level you want to dive into that water, because it can get heated pretty quickly.
All of these topics will help you market your business, really! They help people get to know, like, and trust you, which will help to sell your sessions and courses.
